I am certainly no green thumb but I do love to garden. For the past two summers I have made a little piece of our yard into a garden to grow annual, perennials, herbs, and veggies. Most of them have survived. Eating what you have worked hard to grow seems to taste that much better. But if I am being honest, I do get a little sad knowing that once I have picked it, it's gone. It has been a great lesson in savoring food and appreciating every last bite.
Here's the loot we have gotten so far from our sweet little garden. We have been dining on home grown salads for a while now. Sadly our veggies are starting to deplete or else I would invite you all to dinner. We still have one very promising eggplant and hopefully a few green peppers to look forward to. And what to do with all that basil? Well, I will attempt to make pesto...wish me luck!
